loppear reviewed Black Boss by John Rozier
have to read between the faux-objective bile
3 stars
Comically biased reporting from a aggrieved white guy who grew up in the rural black-majority middle Georgia county that a civil rights activist came into in 1968 to transform politically and economically over 4 years. Rozier's connections and white residents reactionary actions are nearly invisible in this telling, but McCown's commitment to creating a local basis of black power come through nonetheless.
