reviewed The ghost king by R. A. Salvatore (Transitions -- bk. 3)

R. A. Salvatore: The ghost king (2009, Wizards of the Coast)

Don't miss the gripping conclusion to Salvatore's New York Times best-selling Transitions trilogy! When the Spellplague …

This, I have to confess, is one of the most adventure-filled books in this series. Tops off another chapter in the life of the brilliant Drizzt. Like many others, though, can't tell whether this is the end or not for some of the characters; the end sort of leaves the reader wondering, but then again, if you read between the lines, there are clues; people you think are gone forever must simply be in a different place, or at least one that isn't reachable by the human race, or at least not by anyone we know.

reviewed The orc king by R. A. Salvatore (Transitions -- 1)

R. A. Salvatore: The orc king (2007, Wizards of the Coast)

As is typical seemingly for salvatore, this is another book that seems to herald both the beginning and end of an era. Though by the end of it, leaves the reader wondering which way things will go; particularly, which side is King Obould on?

R. A. Salvatore: The Two Swords (The Hunter's Blades Trilogy, Book 3) (2005, Wizards of the Coast)

Review of "The Two Swords (The Hunter's Blades Trilogy, Book 3)" on 'Goodreads'

It seems that the author loves cliffhangers yet again. And the even bigger question. Where the heck did Obould go? drizzt didn't kill him ... we know that much, at least. And Breunor ... I suppose we won't find out until the next book.

reviewed The lone drow by R. A. Salvatore (The hunter's blades trilogy ;)

Overall, you can't go wrong with this book; Salavatore's done it again. Though during the midst of this series, you can't really tell whether the events of this particular arc have ended, though it doesn't seem to, ending with the capture by a Drow of a dearf? Not quite sure where the author is going with that, but I have a feeling that this one's not going to be rescued by the rest of Clan Battlehammer. We'll have to wait and see. Nice cliffhanger, though ... again, just like in the previous book. What is the author trying to accomplish here?

reviewed The thousand Orcs by R. A. Salvatore (The Hunter's Blades trilogy ;)

R. A. Salvatore: The thousand Orcs (2003, Wizards of the Coast)

Review of 'The thousand Orcs' on 'Goodreads'

It's at this point of the adventure where it seems as if everything is in transition; either everyone got simply distracted by the orcs in finding the ancient Dwarven homeland, or the enemy goes deeper than anyone realized. And what with Drizzt at the end of it ... There is a definite cliffhanger here to the beginning of a longer tale. It's certainly closer to the beginning than the end.

reviewed Sea of Swords by R. A. Salvatore (Forgotten Realms: Legend of Drizzt, part 13)

R. A. Salvatore: Sea of Swords (2002, Wizards of the Coast)

Drizzt and his friends try and track down Wulfgar's magical hammer Aegis Fang. They stop …

Review of 'Sea of Swords' on 'Goodreads'

It is at this point in the series where the author seems to indicate that one battle is over, and another one is begun. Wulfgar returns to his normal self, though not quite; seemingly, he still has a bit of an emotional hurdle to climb over.
For Drizzt, the scene is nearly no different. He, on the other hand, has to deal with the death of a victim who never should have been a victim. Bruenor is right. Ellifain killed herself. Only two places where the friends can seemingly end up. Who's going to Icewind Dale, and who to Mithril Hall?

reviewed The Spine of the World by R. A. Salvatore (Forgotten Realms: Paths of Darkness, Book 2)

R. A. Salvatore: The Spine of the World (2000, Wizards of the Coast)

Review of 'The Spine of the World' on 'Goodreads'

Interesting diversion from the main plot. except, didn't think Wulfgar would recover his dignity. seems he did. He ought to go find Drizzt and the others.

Why the Crystal Shard ever fell out of the Companions of the Hall's hands, I don't know, but Jarlaxle can't keep that thing.
